Hearing-health compliance for noisy industry

Noise,managed.

AS/NZS 1269.4 audiometric programs
for Australian industry.

Noise / Compliance

The rules are clear. Most systems aren't.

If your workers need hearing protection, you almost certainly need an audiometric testing program. The obligation is straightforward. Meeting it with spreadsheets, scans and email threads is not.

A worker crouched over a metal cut-off saw, sparks scattering across the floor, wearing no hearing protection

hearing-loss compensation claims lodged by Australian workers since 2015.

Safe Work Australia 2

Regulation

Queensland now requires testing within 3 months of starting, then at least every 2 years. NSW and Victoria already do. 1

Records

Every result must stay accessible and secure for at least 30 years. 3

Coverage

Could you say, today, how many of your workers are overdue for a test?

Noise / Assessment

Built to catch the 4 kHz notch.

Noise-induced hearing loss shows up first as a notch near 4 kHz. Every audiogram is plotted to the AS/NZS convention and checked for standard threshold shift against the correct baseline, with NAL-80 and ISO 7029 age correction. When a shift is confirmed, the referral raises itself.

STS confirmed at 4 kHz. Referral raised.

Noise / The program

What you see when you log in.

Not a mock-up: the actual screens your testers and admins use, from finding a worker to the letter that reaches the GP.

Worker search dialog: find a worker by name, date of birth or employee ID, with risk level and last test date beside each result
01Find the worker.Name, date of birth or employee ID.
A worker file showing demographics, baseline reference audiogram, years remaining and full assessment history
02Open their file.Baseline, history, consents and next due date in one record.
An assessment report comparing reference and monitoring audiograms, with a significant threshold shift flagged per AS/NZS 1269.4
03Run the assessment.Reference against monitoring, STS called per AS/NZS 1269.4.
The referral letter composer, mail-merging worker details and assessment findings with tester notes
04Compose the referral.Mail-merged from the latest assessment.
The generated GP referral letter on the client's letterhead, ready to send
05Send the letter.GP-ready, on your letterhead, tracked to an outcome.

Noise / Workflow

One sequence, from worker to audit pack.

Your testers run the same five steps every time, so assessments stay consistent and the admin takes care of itself.

01
Capture demographics

Worker, site, role and exposure context. Entered once, attached to every test.

02
Run the audiogram

Enter or import thresholds per ear, checked as they land.

03
Shift, calculated

STS, NAL-80 and age correction against the correct baseline. Never by hand.

04
Generate letters

Worker and referral letters produced from the record, signed and timestamped.

05
Export the audit pack

A regulator-ready pack whenever you need it. No scrambling.

What it replaces

Email chains of resultsAuthor unclear, baseline buried somewhere in the thread→ one attributable record
Threshold shift worked out by handDifferent tester, different answer→ calculated, every time
Scanned referral PDFsEasy to lose track of who followed up, and when→ closed-loop referrals
Undated legacy exportsDense, hard to read, harder to defend→ one-click audit pack

Noise / Data custody

You're holding workers' hearing data. We treat it that way.

A plain statement of posture: what we align to and how the data is handled. We don't claim certifications we don't hold.

Privacy
Designed around the Australian Privacy Principles for handling sensitive health information. Australian hosted.
Security
Controls modelled on ISO/IEC 27001:2022 Annex A. Aligned to, not a claim of certification. Multi-factor authentication for administrators.
Retention
30-year retention rules with soft-delete: a record is recoverable, and never silently lost.
Access
Role-based access for site admins, client admins and assessors, so each person sees exactly what their job requires.

Pilot program · Onboarding now

See it running.

A 20-minute walkthrough of the workflow your testers will run and the admin it takes off your plate. We're onboarding a small set of pilot clients: a careful rollout, not a rushed one.
